About the teacher

Dr. Dan Benson, DPT

Dan understands how hard it can be to be sidelined from an injury - he broke his back in 2005 and, after a lot of hard work, was skiing in New Zealand 6 months later.  He understands the pain and frustration of a serious injury as well as what it takes to get better.

Dan is addicted to outdoor activities, lives to ski, played college soccer, and has a history of participating in all kinds of other sports - golf, tennis, basketball, trail running, triathlons, barefoot water-skiing, and many more.

Being active is why Dan became a physical therapist - he wants others to be able to share in his passion for movement and do so without pain or limitation.

He is motivated by patients' stories - getting them back to doing what they love is why Dan puts so much time into learning about human movement.

His wife Anna is a nurse at UW Medical Center and she also loves outdoor activities and leading a healthy life.  They have two amazing kids, Caden and Aurelia, and they exercise as a family often!

"My goal is to make this world as good of a place as possible by helping those I am fortunate enough to come to know - that includes family, friends, patients, and anyone else I am lucky enough to meet.  It is a privilege for me to get to use my expertise in human movement, empathy, encouragement, and kindness to guide people back to pain free movement and more enjoyable activity." See Dan's full bio here...
